OK Computer
Radiohead toured the world for almost two years straight in support of The Bends the band started to become exhausted with the constant touring. Meanwhile, the world around started changing in the anticipation of the new millenium. Computers and technology were quickly taking over modern pop culture. Radiohead released their third album, Ok computer, in May 1997. It recieved inmediate critical acclaim, with rolling stone calling it a "stunning art-rock and changed the rock world taking it to more experimental way". OK Computer is often acclaimed as landmark record of the 1990s and one of the greatest albums in recording history.
The albuk depicts a world fraught with rampant consumerism, social alienation, emotional isolation and political malaise. OK Computer has been said to have prescient insight into the mood of 21st-century life.
However along with this newfound recognition, came more pressure and Thom was beginning to develop depression.
My top 3 songs in this album:
1. Paranoid Android
2. Subterranean Homesick Alien
